AMT GMC “Jimmy” plastic SUV model

Another nice “Round 2” model from AMT, manufactured in 2020, based on the 1970 original molds. This was an SUV that existed before the acronym “SUV” had been coined. Cast in white, the molds are actually well-engineered with decent fit. The model is built stock, straight out of the box.
Hood is removable/posable to show the Chevy 350 V8 engine.
The top is removable to exhibit the interior, featuring saddle brown seats and door panels with a fully decorated dash, spare tire and opening back hatch.
The exterior is Hunter Green.
I went old-school with this one; Windex bath, priming, wet-sanding, several coats of paint. After de-gassing for about two weeks, I sanded the entire vehicle with the Detail Master Polishing system with a final finishing application of actual Turtle Wax. The finished result means that you can actually see yourself in the finish!
The model has some chrome with actual metal tape. I’m very proud of the finished “Jimmy.”
The finished model will be sent in the original kit box with the original instruction sheets.
