The 1959 Pontiac Catalina Safari Wagon underwent a complete redesign for the 1959 model year. Perhaps the most notable change was the "V" contoured hoods that Pontiac put on its passenger cars in 1959. The bodies on the '59 Catalina Safari Wagons were also lower and longer than previous years, and they were roomier for passengers inside the vehicle. The newly styled tail fins also were upgraded in 1959, giving these Pontiacs a more futuristic look. This particular Pontiac Safari Wagon comes to us from Idaho, where the previous owner owned the car since 1970. An upgraded 347 Cubic Inch V8 engine with a single 2 barrel carburetor propels this Safari Wagon down the road. Dual exhaust gives this Pontiac Wagon a nice, throaty sound going down the road. Driving this Safari Wagon is easy with an Automatic Transmission with a column mounted shifter. This particular Catalina Safari is well optioned, with power steering and power brakes, which make this Wagon a much nicer car to drive. This Safari was recently repainted in its original color, Canyon Copper, and the paint is in very nice shape. The chrome and exterior trim are in good shape and add to the classic 50s look of this Pontiac station wagon. The wheels on this classic Pontiac have been upgraded to Ridler wheels with new radial tires, making for a smoother and more stylish ride. The interior on this Pontiac Catalina Safari appears to have been recently re-done and is in excellent condition. The burgundy and brown vinyl bench seats, along with the brown carpeting, appear just as they did when this Pontiac rolled off the Kansas City, Kansas Manufacturing Plant floor. The door panels are also in excellent shape and match the interior look of the car. The steering wheel looks great as well and the dash is in its stock configuration and looks fantastic. The trunk is in very nice shape and appears to have been recently refinished. If you're looking for a unique classic car, this 1959 Pontiac Catalina Safari Wagon is the perfect car for you and it's right here at Ellingson Motorcars in Rogers, Minnesota. Give us a call today!
