This is a wonderfully preserved 1967 Pontiac Grand Prix Convertible that has lived its life garaged in Northern California with but one owner from new. Having its original paint and upholstery, this Grand Prix has been updated only as required. It is incredibly rare to find such an example with this type of provenance: One owner from new, garaged in California since new with mostly original features. If you value a gorgeous original car over a restored example, this is worthy of close examination. This Grand Prix was built in the Fremont, CA assembly plant on the last week of October and is body number 257. She is complete with all her owner's manuals, Protect-O-Plate and a fantastic file history from new. The file starts with its original sales invoice from Balestra Pontiac in Redwood City, CA with a sale date of March 4, 1967. Her original owner, Philip Aaron, was a young lawyer who set up his practice in Redwood City, CA after being discharged from the Navy and graduating from Stanford Law School. During our test drives we had the sense that this was quite the car. Powerful, sleek and sexy as well as rare. The owner knew that which led him to keep it for 55 years until his recent passing. She still wears her original black California license plates. The livery is in its original Montego Cream (Paint Code T1) and the paint looks terrific. The cream paint is complimented with twin black coachstripes and a standard strip of black vinyl to protect it from door dings. It does have areas that have invariably touched up over the decades and there are small sections with some lacquer cracking, but overall it is in very nice condition with excellent shine and luster. The chrome and stainless is in excellent condition and if it weren't for the history one would argue that it has been restored. The chrome with without pitting and the stainless is in excellent condition. The wheel covers are the original Pontiac covers and are in excellent condition. The white power convertible top is much newer and in excellent condition with a clear rear window and an excellent original top boot in Parchment. The interior is in overall excellent original condition with its original Parchment (Trim Code 585) bucket seats and wood veneered dashboard and center console. Everything appears original with the exception of the carpeting, which could be slightly better fitted near the drivers seat. But the dash pad has no cracks and the steering wheel appears to have been repaired and painted years ago and looks great. The convertible top works very well and operates silently. All the gauges appear to function well and the AM radio works. The engine compartment has been detailed. There are signs of earlier "rattle can" painting but mostly it is very nice and correct, fine for showing at local car shows. The venerable 400 cid V8 produces 350 hp with its four barrel carburetor. She performs very well as you can see from our videos showing a test drive. The automatic transmission also works very well shifting smoothly. The suspension is very tight and she really drives pretty much as a new car, with the exception of the throaty sound of the exhaust which sound great. The chassis is devoid of rust and the trunk is in very nice original condition with its jack and spare tire. The Hagerty No. 2 Value is ,900 and its No. 3 Value is ,500. Because of this cars condition and provenance, we believe this to be valued closer to a No. 2 example. For more details and information, please call, text or email Harry Clark at 1.602.245.7200 or . The Grand Prix is available for inspection at the owner's home in Phoenix.
