    Description

    Vehicle Details
Rare 1973 Pontiac Grand Am 455, 4bbl carburetor, dual exhaust, Turbo 400 transmission, 3:23 limited slip axle, no A/C, black on black, original numbers matching drive train. PLEASE NOTE; THE PICTURES MAKE THE CAR LOOK BETTER THAN IT IS. I had the intention to make this car in to a fun driver but years have gone by and I just don't have the time. The combination of options makes it very rare so it's possible it's a "one of ?" car. This car has had at least one repaint in it's life but is mostly unmolested and original. I had done some work on it to get it to driver condition but life got in the way and I stopped. I will simply list the good and the bad below, Please ask questions. I highly recommend you look at it in person if possible. The car starts and stops but it isn't roadworthy- the brakes are bad and the tires are dry rotted. A long weekend of work on the car should get it road worthy. It also needs a new ignition switch cylinder installed (it's stuck in the 'on' position), I have the new cylinder but just started to install it so I may wait to see what the new owner wants to do-a new ignition means a 3rd key for the car. This car needs a lot of work but could be a great 'one of' car. What you would be buying is a great base for a restoration of a very rare car or with some work a fun driver that would get a lot of attention.THE GOOD: Numbers matching, low optioned, PHS documented, complete car-largely original, some additional NOS and used parts go with the car, some receipts and owner history as far back as 1974, rare articles and information on 1973 Grand Am, original owners manuals, correct SN stamped on engine, trans 73PR 18334, axle CE B017 1, carb 7043262, carb was rebuilt by Guaranteed Carburetor, alternator rebuilt by P & G, 1974 GTO shaker scoop (no mechanical parts) and hood fabricated to accept scoop-original hood also goes with the car, original spare tire, new battery, 96,458 miles, newer carpet, sill plates, door window seals, reproduction floor mats, added tach (not working-have orig clock), recent tune up, NOS parts I have I didn't install-I assumed the new owner would want to do that at the appropriate time, you can see some of the original factory tower clamps are still on the hoses, the vacuum lines look original as does the radiator cap, Clear title in hand.THE BAD: The car needs a lot of work, it's rusty-see photos, the tires are dry rotted, mice had gotten in over the winter, I cleared them out but they were there. Looks like the windshield is leaking, rust at the top of the sail panels, exhaust leak at the manifold, brakes are very bad, I patched the rusted floor-the floors have not been replaced, rust hole on passenger side of the rear bumper, drivers door needs hinge pins replaced (have pins and bushings), the front replica fascia needs to be re-fitted or replaced, the shaker hood and the fascia were painted with rattle cans on to see if I liked it-it was for mock-up only (original hood goes with the car), headlamps and bucket are removed but go with the car, the temp gauge stopped working (have extra cluster), seems to be aground issue, step on the brake and the gauges move, AM/8 track doesn't work, the dash pad is cracked, the trunk floor was patched, the car is 50 years old and been in the Midwest it's entire life so I could go on and on but you get the idea-lots of things to attend to. I noted everything I can think of but i'm sure theses more-please ask questions. The opening bid is set at K, NO RESERVE. I have the car listed locally and I reserve the right to end the auction early. A 0.00 deposit is due within 24 hours of the end of the auction and the balance is due in 3 days. I will not release the car until the funds have been verified by my bank. I can help load on a truck if needed and once again, this car is NOT road worthy and can only be driven a few blocks safely. Please message me with any questions and thanks for looking!
