1. Yuri Gagarin (1934-1968), naval aviation pilot, one space flight: April 12, 1961, Vostok-1. He died on March 27, 1968 in a plane crash.
2. German Titov (1935-2000), air defense pilot, one space flight: August 6 - August 7, 1961, Vostok-2. He left the cosmonaut corps on June 17, 1970. He died on September 20, 2000.
3. Andriyan Nikolaev (1929-2004), air defense pilot, two space flights: August 11 - August 15, 1962, Vostok-3; June 1 - June 18, 1970, Union-9. He left the cosmonaut corps on January 26, 1982. He died on July 3, 2004.
4. Pavel Popovich (1930-2009), Air Force pilot, two space flights: August 12 - August 15, 1962, Vostok-4; July 3 - July 19, 1974, Soyuz-14. He left the cosmonaut corps on January 26, 1982. He died on September 30, 2009.
5. Valery Bykovsky (1934-2019), Air Force pilot, three space flights: June 14 - June 19, 1963, Vostok-5; September 15 - September 23, 1976, Soyuz-22; August 26 - September 3, 1978, Soyuz-31. He left the cosmonaut corps on January 26, 1982. He died on March 27, 2019.
