    Description

    Yuri Gagarin 30th Anniversary Medal, issued in 1991, which, according to the company that sold them “Is minted from the metal of a Soviet space craft actually flown into space.” Amusingly, they do not mention
    which
    space craft. Since 160,000 of these medals were minted, the space craft had to be about three miles long. Maybe they meant “Contains metal from a space craft” which would be a little more believable. NASA has issued medals containing metal from space-flown space craft (about three atoms of metal per coin). Anyhow, this medal is uncirculated and in its original cello pack. I will include the paper flyer that came with it. The paper is in bad shape - ripped and taped. (Item #109)
